About domain monitoring

Domain monitoring is a way to ensure that our domain name remains in your control. Semonto keeps an eye on it 24/7, ensuring you're notified well in advance when the expiration date approaches. This way, you can avoid that your domain is deleted or gets claimed by somebody else.

What if your domain cannot be monitored

When you start monitoring your domain, Semonto might return a message saying “This domain is not supported”. This usually has nothing to do with Semonto, but with the domain itself. Let’s have a look at what could be causing the problem.

Possible causes

The domain does not exist
One possible explanation is that Semonto could not find the domain. Check whether you have entered the domain correctly. Are you sure that it is an existing domain? Did you spell it correctly?

The domain does not allow monitoring
Some domains, for example, the ones ending with .be (Belgium), do not allow domain monitoring (yet). This last part of your domain (the part after the dot) is called the top-level domain or TLD. Here’s the list of TLDs that are supported. If the TLD of your website is not in this list, you have found the reason we (or anyone else, for that matter) cannot monitor the domain.
